Filed under: Fun Blogs — marthur @ 12:09 pm

EQ: How do good readers make inferences?

The young boy in the story is traveling across the huge ocean to the unknown land.  Put yourself in his shoes. What kinds of feelings would you have on your journey?

Remember, you would have to leave everything you know like your family and friends, your house and school and even toys.  The journey could take several months, cramped on ship, with the same old stale food everyday.  The journey could be dangerous with all the storms and people getting sick and you wouldn’t have much to do. But also remember why you are going on your journey, what do you expect to do when you get there? Is it worth it? How does that make you feel?
